When You Get Involved

Due to the vulnerable population that we serve, all our volunteers are carefully screened. This includes an interview, reference checks, police check and position-specific training. We continue to support our volunteers with ongoing educational seminars, support meetings, supervision, and feedback.

1. Client Support Positions

Applications are reviewed in the order they are received. When the current training session is filled to capacity, applications will be held over for the following training session. Class size is limited.

Training required: 30-hour basic training course followed by additional educational seminars throughout the year. Basic training is offered in the spring, fall and winter during evenings and weekends.

Time commitment: One-year commitment. Once matched with a client, volunteers give approximately four hours of service a week

2. Administrative Positions

Recruitment is ongoing therefore training is scheduled on an individual basis.

Training required: Brief orientation and job-specific training.

Time commitment: Volunteers may serve on short-term projects or may assist on a regular, on-going basis. Hours vary by assignment.
